Boss will not rush to change side

Paul Tisdale
Tisdale says he will pick whoever is best equipped to beat Bradford on Saturday

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale says he will not make changes to his side simply because they lost 3-1 to Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

City threw away a 1-0 half time lead as their eight-match unbeaten run ended.

And with a key game with Bradford on Saturday, Tisdale will not change his side just for the sake of it.

"I will change the side if I believe if changing it I'll get a better performance on Saturday, I won't be changing it because we lost tonight."

City occupy the final play-off spot with Bradford one place ahead of them thanks to a better goal difference.

"It's a big game, but it would have been no bigger had we won tonight," he told BBC Radio Devon after the loss at home to Bournemouth.

"The players who played tonight deserved to play. We've been on a very good run of form and those players have been in the side throughout that.

"If I believe that the same players will get the best result on Saturday I'll pick the same players. It's not just about we lose tonight and therefore I've got to change the side, it doesn't give your players much confidence.

"Whoever I feel will be necessary to win the game on Saturday will be selected and the ones that are on the fringes will have to keep working until that opportunity arises for them," he added.
