Tisdale felt City "had no spark" in their 3-2 defeat at Curzon Ashton
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale says Curzon Ashton deserved their victory over the Grecians in the FA Cup first round on Saturday.
Northern League Division One side Curzon, who are 100 places below League Two City, beat them 3-2 to book their place in the second round.
"I'm very disappointed but I think they thoroughly deserved their win," Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon after the match.
"We didn't have any spark in the first half," he added.
But Tisdale said his side did not take the part-timers lightly.
"The first half wasn't good enough and I told the players so, but we didn't approach this game with anything other than the upmost respect for the tie.
"Their first goal came out of nothing, it was a huge deflection but that's what happens in these type of games.
"I didn't think they were a good side. They were an average side who had a good plan and we made our own mistakes."
Curzon Ashton have been drawn away to Blue Square Premier side Kidderminster Harriers in the second round.
