Taylor played over 600 games for Exeter, Swindon and Bristol City |
Forest Green Rovers assistant boss Shaun Taylor has thrown his hat into the ring again for the managerial vacancy at Conference rivals Exeter. The ex-Grecians skipper was interviewed for the job before departing boss Alex Inglethorpe's appointment in 2004.
He told the Express & Echo: "I was disappointed not to get it last time.
"I do want to do things properly, though, and I will need to speak to (boss) Gary Owers and the chairman at Forest Green."
Plymouth-born Taylor, 43, made 200 league appearances for Exeter between 1986 and 1991, and captained them to promotion from Division Four in 1990.
He then had spells with Swindon and Bristol City, where he eventually joined the coaching staff - before linking up with Owers at Forest Green last summer.
