Taylor has vast experience with Exeter, Swindon and Bristol City |
Former Exeter, Swindon and Bristol City defender Shaun Taylor has revealed that he has held "informal talks" over the managerial vacancy at Exeter. Plymouth-born Taylor, 41, made 200 League appearances for the Grecians between 1986 and 1991.
He is now a youth development coach at Bristol City, who have given permission for him to talk to Exeter.
"It is a job that interests me and I hope to hear more over the next few day," he told Bristol City's website.
"It would mean being in charge of a first team at a club I know well, and I think the time is right in my career."
He held talks with Exeter's director of football, Steve Perryman, and a member of the St James Park board on Wednesday.
The Grecians have been looking for a new manager since it was announced that Eamonn Dolan was leaving to take over as Reading's academy chief.
