Injury rules Everton's Jack Rodwell out for a month
Rodwell lasted only eight minutes of Thursday's game
Everton will have to do without Jack Rodwell for a month as the midfielder recovers from a hamstring injury.
The 18-year-old picked up the injury during last Thursday's 1-0 Europa League defeat by BATE Borisov in their final group game.
He had to come off early in the game after catching his studs in the turf.
Rodwell joins Joseph Yobo, Sylvain Distin, Dan Gosling, Mikel Arteta, Phil Neville, Victor Anichebe and Phil Jagielka in the Everton treatment room.
The injury means Rodwell is expected to miss the Premier League games against Sunderland, Burnley, Arsenal and Manchester City as well as the FA Cup third-round tie against Carlisle.
Rodwell, who made his Everton debut as a 16-year-old in a Uefa Cup tie against AZ Alkmaar in December 2007, has been a key player for David Moyes' side this season, making 22 starts.
But Everton are hoping club captain Neville is nearing a return from his knee injury.
