Dan Gosling scored his second goal of the season against the Hammers
Teenage Everton matchwinner Dan Gosling says that Sunday's 2-1 win over West Ham will give them a much-needed lift.
Although the Blues have lost just once in seven league games, it was their first three-point haul since the 1-0 win over Portsmouth on 26 September.
"It's a massive confidence booster," Gosling told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"We've struggled in recent games and we need to get back up the table. Hopefully, we'll just carry on now and get a few more wins under our belt."
The England Under-19 international admits that the international break may have come at the wrong time for the Blues, given their turnaround in fortunes.
But Gosling also points out that it will give some of their injured players time to get fit ahead of the next game against Manchester United on 21 November.
"We won today and we wouldn't have minded a quick game around the corner," he said. "But hopefully the lads can come back fully fit and not too tired and we can get back to winning ways the following week.
"The lads will play through as much as they possibly can. There is a great team spirit and this win was a vital confidence booster."
Everton now lie 12th in the Premier League on 15 points, five clear of danger and six adrift of a European place.
