Jacobsen has joined the Toffees on a free transfer
Everton full-back Lars Christian Jacobsen has said he is hoping to regain his form and fitness after signing a one-year deal with the club.
The 28-year-old Danish international endured an injury hit season with German side FC Nuremburg last term.
"Obviously I had some problems last year with injuries," Jacobsen told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"I played the last six matches in the Bundesliga, I'm not injured and I'm ready to play so hopefully I will."
Jacobsen added he found his spell on the sidelines with injuries, which restricted him to just seven appearances, a frustrating time.
"It's the worst thing in the world if you're a footballer and unable to do your job, it's a living nightmare."
Jacobsen may have spent last season playing in the Bundesliga, a league viewed as similar to the Premier League, but he believes playing in England will be a completely different experience to playing in Germany.
"The Bundesliga is a lot of one-against-one and you have to take care of your opponent, sometimes a little bit too much.
"You just run across the field following your man and I don't think it's like that over here so I don't think you can compare the two leagues."
