| Monday, 6 January, 2003, 16:47 GMT McBride all-clear for Everton
The Toffees are confident Egypt defender Ibrahim Said will also get a work permit by the end of Tuesday, completing manager David Moyes' double loan swoop. McBride, who helped his country reach the World Cup quarter-finals, has signed a three-month deal and will re-join Columbus Crew before the Major League Soccer season begins in April. He played under Moyes when he was manager at Preston before resuming his career in America. Said has signed from Cairo-based Al Ahly until the end of the season. The 23-year-old spent two weeks with Everton during the summer and accompanied the club on their pre-season tour of Scotland playing in the games against Queens Park, Dunfermline and Hibernian. Moyes said: "I have worked with Brian before and also had the opportunity to see Ibrahim as well, so we have an idea of what both them are capable of producing." |
