Paul Gallacher was available on loan from Norwich |
Dunfermline Athletic have signed goalkeeper Paul Gallacher on loan from Norwich City. Gallacher, who has seven Scotland caps, has failed to become a first-team regular with Norwich since signing from Dundee United in 2004.
Dunfermline needed cover following an injury to Scott McKenzie left them with Sean Murdoch as their only fit keeper.
Manager Stephen Kenny told his club website: "If Sean was to get injured or sick, we would have no goalkeepers."
McKenzie was injured in Thursday's 1-1 draw with Hacken in the Uefa Cup.
Scotland youth goalkeeper Greg Paterson has a broken finger.
And goalkeeping coach Neil Inglis was forced on to the bench for Sunday's Division One draw with Livingston.
"You think that with three goalkeepers you have enough, but Paul will be a good signing," said Kenny.
"We are lucky to get someone as experienced as that."
Gallacher has already had loan spells with Gillingham and Sheffield Wednesday since moving to Carrow Road.
