Keeper Sean Murdoch was making his debut for Dunfermline |
Dunfermline goalkeeper Sean Murdoch is desperate for the next game to come around after his debut error gifted BK Hacken a Uefa Cup draw on Thursday. "I am obviously disappointed, there is no point in hiding from it, a mistake is a mistake," he said. "Goalies make mistakes and they are costly.
"That's the difference between winning 1-0 and drawing 1-1, that mistake.
"There is no point dwelling on it. There is a game on Sunday, which is excellent as it comes really quick."
Dunfermline face Livingston, with both clubs seeking their first points after disappointing starts to the First Division campaign.
 | It was kind of a freak goal |
Murdoch is almost certain to be handed his first start for the Pars after coming on to replace the injured Roddy McKenzie against Hacken.
The 21-year-old , whose only first-team games had come on loan spells at Forfar and Hamilton, redeemed himself with a couple of good saves after a horrific mistake in the 57th minute.
He came out to collect an overhit long ball, but the ball bounced over his grasp and Jonas Henriksson knocked the ball into an empty net to give the Swedes a 1-1 first-leg draw.
"It was kind of a freak goal," he said. "I didn't realise it was going to pop up that much.
"If I didn't touch it, I think it would have gone out for a bye-kick, but these things happen."
"The manager was good, the boys were good, they were just saying it's how you react.
"They have just been positive about me, so that's been good.
"They just kept telling me that it has happened to the best of them.
"I suppose that's true and you have just got to keep your head up."
Henriksson's goal makes Hacken favourites, but Murdoch is convinced the Pars can go to Gothenburg in a fortnight and get the result they need.
"We have got strikers and other players who are capable of scoring over there," the keeper said.
"I thought they were good, but I think we are much better than them in all honesty."
