Georgi Hristov has had cruciate ligament trouble |
New Dunfermline Athletic striker Gjorgi Hristov believes that all his team-mates would prefer not to be playing on the club's artificial surface. The Macedonia striker, just recovered from a cruciate ligament injury, made his debut against Celtic in a game overshadowed by a row over the pitch.
He said it was too early to say whether he liked the pitch but added: "I think all players prefer grass.
"But, if I am not happy, what can I do if I don't like the pitch?"
Hristov had played against John Hartson, Alan Thompson, Chris Sutton and Stephane Henchoz while they were all involved in English football.
But the former Barnsley striker, who also played alongside former Pars striker Jack de Gier at NEC Nijmegen, was still surprised at their impact as a team unit.

"I have never played against as strong and physical side as Celtic were," he told Dunfermline's website. Hristov was denied a debut goal by a good save from Rab Douglas during a disappointing 3-0 Scottish Cup defeat.
"It was close but not close enough," he said, stressing that the league was more important.
"When I played in England, I followed the Scottish League. I am friends with Jack de Gier, we played together before he moved to Dunfermline.
"I saw Jack when he was here for the Dundee United game.
"Of course, I asked him about Dunfermline and he said only good things about the club, the people and the supporters."
