Dunfermline target four
Hibs' striker Craig Brewster against Kilmarnock
Craig Brewster has been linked with a move to Fife
Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston has revealed that talks are under way to bring in four new players within the next fortnight.

He is confident Waterford United midfielder Gary Dempsey will sign next week.

The East End Park chief also claimed that he was closing in on a striker, central defender and former Aberdeen goalkeeper Derek Stillie, who is currently with Wigan Athletic.

"We've been discussing new signings this week while we've been on holiday," said Yorkston.

"We've put in a bid for Dempsey after he impressed the manager (Jimmy Calderwood) during a week's trial.

"He scored 21 goals last year and is a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international and we're hopeful of completing that next week.

"Stillie is another possibility. Jimmy also wants a centre forward and a centre half and we're working on those."

Hibernian's Craig Brewster has been linked with the Fifers as it looks unlikely that the Edinburgh side can afford to offer the veteran forward a new deal.

Brewster has said he may opt to return to Greek football, where he spent five years before joining Hibs last season.

Dunfermline have confirmed that they will play Calderwood's former club, NEC Nijmegen in a friendly during the Pars' pre-season training stint in Holland.
