Cadamarteri has been mainly used as a substitute this season
Danny Cadamarteri has left Dundee United after 18 months at Tannadice.
A statement from the club said the 31-year-old forward had been "released from his contract by mutual consent".
Cadamarteri netted four goals in his first seven games for United following his move from Huddersfield Town but failed to add to that tally.
All but two of his 14 appearances this season have come off the bench and he has moved on as the club prepare to reduce their wage bill this summer.
The former England Under-21 international began his career with Everton before spells with Bradford City, Leeds United, Sheffield United, Grays Athletic and Leicester City.
Tannadice manager Peter Houston had told Cadamarteri and fellow forwards Francisco Sandaza and Jennison Myrie-Williams in August that they could find new clubs.
However, while Myrie-Williams headed for Scottish Premier League rivals St Johnstone and Sandaza moved to Brighton, Cadamarteri has remained with United until now.
