Dumbarton have signed David McEwan after the former Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper left Derry City.
The 26-year-old, who started his career with Livingston before joining Hamilton Accies, joined the Irish outfit last year from Alloa Athletic.
Sons manager Jim Chapman said: "David is a great keeper with potential to be the best in the division. He's got experience and will be a great asset."
But Chapman missed out on former Sons forward Ryan Borris, who joined Ayr.
He preferred to remain in Division Two after leaving Raith Rovers instead of dropping down a division.
