Third Division Dumbarton have signed Michael Dunlop on a two-year contract after the defender left Queen's Park.

The 26-year-old defender, who arrived at Hampden from Ayr United in 2005, helped the Spiders consolidate their place in Division Two this season.

Sons manager Jim Chapman told his club website: "Michael was one of our very first targets and it's great to have him on board.

"We are building a team for the long- term and others will follow."

Meanwhile, Mark Canning, Fergus Tiernan and Liam Cusack have joined Craig Brittain in agreeing new one-year contracts.

Mick O'Byrne and Andy Geggan have been offered deals.

Chapman is in the process of rebuilding his side after releasing 10 players earlier in the week.
