Fortune has been plagued by injuries over his career
Doncaster Rovers have taken former Premier League pair Quinton Fortune and John Oster on trial.
Left winger Fortune, who spent seven years at Manchester United, has been released by Belgian side Tubize.
Wales international Oster, who has played for Everton and Reading, spent last season at Crystal Palace but was released from Selhurst Park in May.
"Fortune has been there, seen it, and done it," Rovers assistant boss Richard O'Kelly told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"He's come in, he's training with us and he's had an impact."
O'Kelly added that Rovers have been contacted by a number of Premier League clubs, asking if they want to take loan players at the Keepmoat.
"We've had a couple of Premiership clubs who've been in touch saying we're the sort of club that they'd like their boys to come to," he said.
"It is a credit to the manager and the group of players we've got here that people can come into the environment and in a short space of time be made to feel at home and actually develop their careers."
