Doncaster Rovers have been devastated by the news that loan striker Steve Brooker has returned to Bristol City.
The 27-year-old tore a calf muscle in training, bringing a premature end to his loan spell at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Brooker made his Rovers debut at the weekend, scoring an equaliser at Watford after coming on as a second-half substitute at Vicarage Road.
It is expected that Brooker will be out for at least a month and will not feature until the new year.
