Legue scored the overtime winner in Coventry. |
Sheffield Steelers forward Jeff Legue says his overtime winner against Coventry Blaze was the 'most important goal' of his career. The 27-year-old's score in the 4-3 win at Coventry moved them seven points clear at the top of the Elite League. "My first reaction was huge relief, I turned around and it seemed that the whole bench jumped all over me," Legue told BBC Radio Sheffield. "It was a great weekend for the team, I was just the lucky man." he added. Legue shot the winning goal with 28 seconds left to play at a packed Sky Dome Arena. Joe Talbot and Scott Basiuk got the Steelers other goals early in the first period. Legue also scored the overtime winner in a hard fought 4-3 victory over bottom club Hull Stingrays at Ice Sheffield on Saturday. The Steelers entertain Cardiff Devils on Saturday 10 January and Belfast on Sunday 11 January at the Sheffield Arena.
