Derby County chairman of football Adam Pearson says that trying to bring in new faces for next season is proving a difficult task.
The Rams are close to sealing a deal for Exeter City midfielder Dean Moxey.
But initial bids for Crewe defender John Brayford and Blackpool defender Shaun Barker have both been rejected.
"It's going slowly on all fronts but we have got ongoing negotiations for Moxey and they seem to be going positively," Pearson told BBC Radio Derby.
"Hopefully in the next few days we'll resolve that and move onto personal terms for the player.

"The situation on Brayford and Barker is that we've put formal offers in and they've been rejected and that's where we're at.
"We'll assess where we want to go with both those targets over the coming weeks."
