Derby County midfielder Miles Addison has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his foot, reports BBC Radio Derby.
The 20-year-old, who has been playing at centre-half, was hurt during the 4-1 win over Blackpool earlier this month.
Boss Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Derby: "He should be fit for pre-season training so we'll get on without him.
"The main thing is he gets it right for July - especially at his age - for his future and our future."
Addison, who in January signed a contract that will keep him at Pride Park until the summer of 2012, has been a key member of the Rams side in his first full season.
He established himself under previous manager Paul Jewell and has retained his place since Clough took over.
