Addison diagnosis delayed again

Derby County midfielder Miles Addison will now have to wait until Monday to discover whether his foot injury has brought an early end to his season.

It is feared Addison has a stress fracture and he will see a senior consultant to see if he needs surgery.

Addison, who has been playing at centre-half, was hurt during last week's 4-1 win over Blackpool.

Rams boss Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Derby: "He is in quite a bit of pain and it doesn't look good."

And if the worst fears are confirmed Clough says Addison's season could well be over.

"There's a possibility of that," Clough admitted. "Or it could be a six-week job and we could get him back for the last month or so but we're not really sure."

Addison has been a key member of the Rams side this season and in January signed a contract that will keep him at Pride Park until the summer of 2012.

He established himself under previous manager Paul Jewell and has retained his place since Clough took over.

Clough added: "The injury is not looking too favourable at the moment but until we get something confirmed we won't know for sure."
