Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage believes the FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest was largely down to a new-found confidence under manager Nigel Clough.
Savage, 34, fell out of favour under previous Derby boss Paul Jewell.
But the former Wales international has been revitalised under Clough and helped the Rams turn a 2-0 deficit into a thrilling 3-2 victory.
"It shows under Nigel we have our spirit back and we played with belief," Savage told BBC Radio Derby.
"It was a bad start - we didn't get going and they came out of the traps better than us.
"But when we went 2-0 down we started passing the ball and creating chances and over the two games we thoroughly deserved the victory.
"At 2-0 down under the previous manager I think we would have capitulated.
"But this manager just brings something you can't put your finger on - he's like Martin O'Neill, he's a very positive man and it breeds into the players.
"He's got a good staff with him, it's a good team. They make us play - even at 2-0 down and it's great to play in.
"We showed a bit of spunk. The fans have seen a performance from us that will give them hope."
Chris Cohen's first-minute strike and Nathan Tyson's penalty saw the Reds race ahead inside 15 minutes.
But Rob Hulse replied with a neatly placed header and the Rams drew level through Paul Green soon after the break.
Former Red Kris Commons secured the victory with a strike from the edge of the box.
But Hulse told BBC Radio Derby his side should not have found themselves with such a mountain to climb.
"They started much sharper than us and scored in the first 60 seconds which kills you a little bit," he said.
"But we dug deep and battled and started to pass the ball and come into the game more as the half wore on. We managed to nick a goal and it was a great comeback.
