Savage has started just one league game for the Rams this season

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the loan signing of veteran midfielder Robbie Savage on a month-long deal from Derby County.

The former Wales international, 33, who had spells with Blackburn and Birmingham City, worked with Seagulls boss Micky Adams at Leicester City.

Adams told the club's website: "We're delighted to have him, he is a terrific character on and off the pitch."

Savage was linked with a coaching role at Wrexham before joining Brighton.

"It means we have even more competition for places in the side."

The combative midfielder had been linked with Port Vale, Crewe and hometown club Wrexham.
