Derby County have brought in Middlesbrough defender Seb Hines on loan as they gear up for their Carling Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old will join the Rams for a month and is available for both legs of the clash with Manchester United.
Caretaker boss Chris Hutchings told the club website: "He is a hugely exciting prospect like many at Boro.
"I think Gareth [Southgate] knows by sending him to us that he'll be in good hands at a great club."
Hutchings added: "He has all the physical attributes and a hunger for defending and is extremely versatile, which is useful to us at the moment."
Hines, who has England caps at under-19 level, has made six appearances for Southgate's side.
