Derby County's new American owners insist bringing profit and success to Pride Park are one and the same. General Sports and Entertainment group chairman Andy Appleby told BBC Radio Derby: "The interesting thing is for us it goes hand in hand.
"And, from a marketing perspective, it goes hand in hand.
"If we can create a wonderful worldwide global brand, which we intend to do, we will create the revenue streams that allow us to influence the club."
And Appleby said he is convinced GSE have made the right decision on all levels.

He said: "We looked at several teams in the English Football League and far and away this was the best opportunity.
"There's a tremendous fan base, and a tremendous heritage and brand. We are tickled that we are able to acquire a 124-year-old club.
"We feel we can build the brand throughout the world. We feel we are the perfect ownership group because of the relationships and the marketing expertise we have.
"This is the culmination of the first part of my career where we have a chance to use every good idea that we have seen or done in the last 21 years in a very, very positive way."
And Appleby also says there will no meddling in football affairs and that the new owners have complete have faith in manager Paul Jewell and chairman Adam Pearson.
"From a day to day perspective we intend to oversee everything," he explained.
"But we are very, very confident in people like Adam and Paul that they are going to all the right thing and frankly we don't intend to put a lot of direction behind the football side. We are completely relying on them."
