Darlington boss Mark Cooper happy after York stalemate
Cooper has led his Quakers side to sixth in Blue Square Bet Premier
Darlington boss Mark Cooper says he is not concerned by his side's sixth straight stalemate on their travels following the 0-0 draw at York.
The Quakers climbed to sixth in Blue Square Bet Premier after the result, and Cooper is satisfied that the club is moving in the right direction.
"Draws are better than defeats," Cooper told BBC Tees.
"However if you win your home games, and you draw your away games then you won't be far away."
While the rest of the teams in Blue Square Bet Premier are in action on Tuesday, Darlington's trip to Bootham Crescent was moved for television coverage.
However Cooper refused to use the rescheduling as an excuse for his side's failure to secure the win.
"York have had the same, they've had to play two games in three days as well, so there the same as us," he said.
"We won't use that as an excuse, it's not ideal in terms of recovery, it's impossible to do it, but two teams that both played on Saturday and gave a good account.
"It was a good local derby, but I'm a bit frustrated we didn't build on our first half display."
