Tony Elliott appointed as Darlington goalkeeping coach
Darlington have appointed Tony Elliott as the club's goalkeeping coach.
The 40-year-old played alongside current Quakers boss Mark Cooper at Huddersfield Town, one of six clubs in the goalkeeper's 13-year career.
Elliott told the club website: "It's my job to keep Sam [Russell] and Kelvin [Jack] on their toes and hopefully I can use my experience to help them.
"Mark wanted someone there on a matchday to work the keepers properly so I just focus on them."
After signing professional forms at Birmingham, Elliott went on to make 235 career league and cup games for the Blues, Hereford, Huddersfield, Carlisle, Cardiff and Scarborough.
Since retiring as a professional in 1999 the Nuneaton-born coach has worked with Carlisle United, Workington, Newcastle Blue Star, Liverpool's academy set-up and England's futsal team.

He will work with both first-team and youth-team goalkeepers on a part-time basis.
"I do a lot of work with the young keepers as well so I'm not restricted to the first team," Elliott added.
"But hopefully I can do my bit and help the gaffer and the team get to where they want to be."
Meanwhile, Cooper is pleased to have brought Elliott's experience to the Arena.
"It is a specialised area and it takes a lot of pressure off me in terms of the coaching," Cooper said.
