League Two side Darlington are still to make an announcement on the club's future, despite a deadline for bids passing at 1700 BST on Tuesday.
Administrators Brackenbury Clark and Company told the BBC no statement could be expected before Thursday.
This is the second time the deadline has passed, after the initial date of 20 April was extended until 5 May.
It has been stated that the deadline could technically be extended for up to 18 months from the date of appointment.
The Quakers entered administration in February.
Darlington finished the season in 12th place and, without the 10-point penalty they incurred for entering administration, would have finished inside the play-off places.
Manager Dave Penney left the club for Oldham before the club's final game of the season against Chester, and further departures are expected during the summer.
