Richie Foran has scored twice in his last three games
Darlington manager Dave Penney admitted he was proud of his players for their response to defeat by Droylsden with a 1-1 draw at promotion rivals Brentford.
A late equaliser from the hosts' Karleigh Osbourne failed to dampen the mood and Penney believes his players completed the job they needed to.
"I'm pleased with the performance, we set our stall out not to get beat after Tuesday," he told BBC Tees.
"It was important that we did react well today and we did that."
Irish striker Richie Foran scored the Quakers' goal, his second in three games since returning to the side after a knee injury.
And Penney is delighted to have the Southend man within his squad as they look to maintain their promotion push against Mark Wright's Chester City on Tuesday.
"He hasn't played for a long time, but he's got himself fit again and he's been extended till January," he said.
"At least we've got him till then, he can play up front or out on the left, he gives us that versatility.
"We're delighted to have Richie on board, at least until January."
Darlington lie second in League Two, two points behind leaders Wycombe Wanderers who have 34 points from 16 games.
