Gain positive of play-off success

Gain has returned to the line-up after two months out with a knee injury

Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Peter Gain insists promotion from League Two is still a possibility.

Despite defeat at Exeter last Saturday, the Daggers are just five points behind seventh-placed Shrewsbury, with a game in hand over the Shropshire club.

Gain told BBC Essex: "I know we've got it in us to get into the play-offs.

"I definitely believe if we do get there we're one of those teams that will get to the final and one of those teams who will get through."

"I felt we had that vibe we had at the start of the season back again," he added.

A knee injury has meant the 32-year-old former Peterborough and Lincoln man played in only his third game of 2009 on Saturday.

However, he is confident he will be able to make a strong contribution to the Daggers end of the season.

"It's taken a little time to get back into it, but I felt fine on Saturday, my knee held up well and my fitness felt OK," he said.
