Still applauds 'complete' Daggers

John Still
Still's team have won five of their nine league games so far this season

Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still said Saturday's win over Rochdale was a 'near complete' performance.

The Daggers' 2-0 away victory was their fifth of the season and moved them into fifth-place in League Two.

After the match Still told BBC Essex: "I'll say that's as complete a performance as you can get.

"Maybe they [Rochdale] had an off day or we've done particularly well, I don't know, but I'm pleased with what we have done."

The Daggers had to endure less than ideal preparations before the game, as travel problems meant they did not arrive at the ground until half an hour before kick-off.

But Still commented: "The lads are very, very focused, we didn't have the best preparation but I think once the game got going and everyone knew what they we doing, they stuck at it and all round it was a good day for us."

Still also stressed the need for his players to continue their current level of performance for the remainder of the season.

"A lot of these players have come from lower levels and it's their drive and ambition that pushes them on," he explained.

"It's very, very important that they keep that drive and ambition."
