Crystal Palace boss Iain Dowie heaped praise on striker Andy Johnson after his brace helped beat West Brom 3-0. Dowie said: "His desire to want to work hard on the training ground, to work on his little deficiencies will always make him want to be the best he can be.
"He is brave, his movement is good, he is good in the air and he can hit the ball like a rocket.
"He is improving on his weaker side, is a threat to any defence and we have him for five years which is pleasing."
On the game itself, Dowie added: "It's pleasing to get another win and when you play as well as we did, in the first half in particular, that we got a return from that.
"Too often in the Premiership we haven't quite got the return.
"Some of our football was pleasing to watch and the manner in which we scored was excellent." Dowie also praised Palace's youngsters who have made a massive impact on the side.
He said: "We have Ben Watson who is 19, Wayne Routledge is 19, Fitz Hall is 23, and Emerson Boyce has come from the second division with Luton and looked very accomplished.
"The lads are performing manfully."
