Crewe Alexandra take Moyes and Mulholland on trial
Crewe Alexandra have given a trial to Hibernian youngster Ewan Moyes.
The 21-year-old defender, who is currently on loan at Brechin City, played in a reserve game for the Alex at Blackburn on Tuesday afternoon.
"We get a lot of recommendations because we've got a good reputation," boss Dario Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke.
Flixton striker Astley Mulholland also featured for the Alex against Blackburn, with Jordan Connerton scoring for Crewe in a 2-1 defeat.
Gradi is assessing his options for what is likely to be another season in League Two, after their play-off hopes all but disappeared following a 1-1 draw at home with Lincoln on Saturday.
"I haven't made up my mind what I'm looking for in the summer yet," he continued.
"I've got part of the way there, but it's still a question of asking whether people will be good enough or whether we can find somebody better.
"We know where we might need to strengthen, but what we don't know is whether we can find the suitable candidates.
"We're going to be restricted to free transfers and we won't be paying high wages, so it's somebody who really wants to play here or our own kids."
