Shelley has scored four goals in 21 appearances for Crewe this season
Danny Shelley believes Crewe Alexandra need to collect maximum points from their last five games to stand any chance of reaching the play-offs.
The Alex occupied an automatic promotion place in January but are now 13th, nine points behind the top seven.
"I think we've got to win every game to give ourselves a chance," midfielder Shelley told BBC Radio Stoke.
"There's quite a big gap between us and the play-offs now and it won't be achievable if we slip up again."
The Alex followed a convincing 8-1 victory over Cheltenham with a 2-1 defeat at Barnet on Saturday.
Their remaining games are against Lincoln, Morecambe, Wycombe, Stockport and Bradford.
"It's possible and if we win all five games, we've got a chance," added Shelley, who has scored four goals for Crewe this season.
"With Clayton Donaldson and Shaun Miller up front, there's a great chance of getting goals, and goals can come from other areas as well, so we know we've got plenty of goals in the team."
