Crewe Alexandra midfielder Lee Bell happy with fitness
Bell returned to the Alex for a second time this summer
Crewe midfielder Lee Bell is happy with his overall fitness having played six games during August.
The 26-year-old has returned to the Alex for a second spell having left for Macclesfield Town in 2008.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I am more focused on looking after my fitness now and the club here gives you all the tools to do that so I have no excuses.
"I feel fit as I ever done for a few years now and I am also recovering well from the games which is good."
Bell has been an ever-present in the Alex team this season, and is sharing the captain's duties with David Artell and Lee Westwood.
He signed a two-year contract in the summer with Crewe having made 74 league appearances for Macclesfield during his two seasons with the Silkmen.
Crewe lost their first two league games of the season to Hereford and Cheltenham but have since beaten Barnet 7-0 and taken a point in a 1-1 draw at Lincoln City.
"We need to keep our unbeaten run going, and while we always try to win games it's important at this stage in the season we don't lose either," added Bell.
The Alex's injury worries are clearing up, striker Calvin Zola is fit again after a knee injury while full-back Matt Tootle is due to resume training next week after a hamstring problem.
