Crewe Alexandra can still attract players - Dario Gradi

Crewe manager Dario Gradi believes the club's coaching methods and facilities can help to attract better players.

Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke: "Everybody that plays against us enjoys the football and want to play that way.

"This is a coaching club and quite a lot of players at this level of football do want to be coached."

The Alex, who finished 18th in League Two last season, have signed Antoni Sarcevic, Lee Bell, David Artell and Rhys Taylor since the end of term.

Teenage midfielder Sarcevic has arrived from non-league Woodley Sports, while Bell and Artell have joined on free transfers from Macclesfield and Morecambe respectively.

Goalkeeper Taylor, 20, is expected to join the club on loan from Chelsea for two months as cover for Steve Phillips, who is recovering from a shoulder operation.

Gradi added that his only remaining transfer target is a left-back, and will look closely at former Bolton youngster Chris Stokes during pre-season.

"He plays centre-half as well, so I'll be interested to see how he does," said the Crewe boss. "I'm only interested in a left-back, nothing else."
