Crewe have signed former midfielder Lee Bell on a two-year deal following his release from Macclesfield Town.
The 27-year-old started his career at the Alexandra Stadium and scored three goals in 62 matches for the Alex before joining Mansfield Town in 2007.
Bell was Macclesfield's player of the year this season but turned down their offer of a new one-year contract.
He made his Crewe debut aged 19 in 2002 and made 16 league appearances as the Alex won promotion to the Championship.
However, Bell found first-team chances difficult to come by and had loan spells at Shrewsbury Town and Burton Albion twice.
