Thordarson criticises Crewe fans

Crewe manager Gudjon Thordarson has criticised the Alex supporters for booing the team during their 2-1 defeat by Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.

"I was surprised with the response from the crowd at half-time," Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke.

"The word 'supporters' means 'to support', and if they're not supporting the team at home, they can't call themselves supporters.

"If that's how they want to respond, they're not helping the team."

The Icelander added: "Some of the players have already said that it's better for us to play away because the true supporters are the ones that follow us away.

"I felt it was harsh to boo us off at half-time, and I will not count people who treat us like that as true supporters."

Crewe are back in action on Tuesday, when they take on Championship side Blackpool in the first round of the Carling Cup.

Meanwhile, trialists Maxime Chanot and Carl Martin have left the club.
