Crewe defender Billy Jones has issued a public apology after he was sent off for foul and abusive language in the club's home game with Leeds United.
The 25-year-old received a straight red card after he hurled abuse at assistant referee Amy Rayner and has since served a three-match ban.
Jones told BBC Radio Stoke: "It's something that I'll never do again in my career.
"I'm disappointed and sorry to the people I've let down."
Jones is expected to come straight back in to the team for Saturday's vital home game against Hartlepool, after on-loan defender Alan Sheehan suffered ankle ligament damage in the game at Swindon Town.
Crewe go in to the game knowing a win is vital as both teams battle to avoid relegation to League Two.
