O'Connor has won two full international caps for Northern Ireland
Midfielder Michael O'Connor has been told he can leave Crewe Alexandra on loan by manager Gudjon Thordarson after a second breach of discipline.
O'Connor, a Northern Ireland international, has been left out of the squad for Crewe's last two matches.
Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke: "I've had a conversation with the lad and he is now available on loan.
"I've told him he is free to go out and get himself a club if he can get himself sorted elsewhere."
Crewe's run of four straight victories ended with a 2-1 home defeat against Carlisle, and Thordarson said his team missed the influence of injured pair Tom Pope and Dennis Lawrence.
"The rhythm of the team wasn't there tonight," Thordarson added. "There's no replacement in the squad for Dennis and Tom, and we missed them.
"Both of them have been very effective in the formation that we've been playing in recent weeks."
The Alex play Hereford at home in their next game (Saturday 7 March, 1500 GMT).
