Crewe striker Anthony Elding has said he has a point to prove when he lines up against his former club Leeds United on Saturday.
The 26-year-old joined the Alex in July after just six months at Elland Road, where he made only four starts.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I never was given a proper chance to show the fans what I could do and I expect them to understand why I left."
Elding has scored three goals in six starts for the Alex.
Crewe have yet to record an away win in the league this season and Elding said he would be delighted to alter that record on his old stomping ground.

"I'm going there as a Crewe player and I'm totally commited to the cause, it would be good to get our season up and running.
"We haven't had the best start to the season so to be on the winning side would be great for me and the team."
And Elding added a victory at Elland Road would be made even sweeter if he were to appear on the scoresheet.
"I'll probably have a little celebration lined up to rub some salt into the wounds," said Elding.
"I'll be looking to do what I do best, and that's score goals."
