Crewe hope to take Spicer on loan
John Spicer
Spicer has made just two appearances for the Clarets this season
Crewe boss Dario Gradi is hoping to tie up the loan signing of Burnley attacking midfielder John Spicer.

The 23-year-old former Arsenal trainee joined the Clarets for 35,000 from Bournemouth in August 2005.

He made 36 appearances in his first season for Steve Cotterill's side, but has been restricted to just two substitute outings this season.

Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke: "We've moved quickly to bring him in after he came highly recommended by the club."

Spicer scored twice against Crewe for Burnley in a 3-0 win in November 2005.
