 Maynard has scored nine league and cup goals this season |
Crewe Alexandra striker Nicky Maynard has been named as League One's player of the month for September. Maynard, 19, scored three goals in six league games during the month, and also netted in their Carling Cup second round giant-killing win over Wigan.
He has an impressive record of 10 goals from just 11 senior starts for Crewe.
The other contenders were Bristol City midfielder Scott Brown, Oldham forward Chris Porter and Yeovil's on-loan Bristol City striker Marcus Stewart.
