Crewe have completed the loan signing of Middlesbrough's England youth international goalkeeper Ross Turnbull. Turnbull, 20, will initially join Alex on a six-month loan which could be extended if all parties agree.
Crewe boss Dario Gradi acted quickly when Turnbull's proposed loan move to Oldham fell through.
Gradi told Crewe's website: "We know all about Ross but we thought he was going to Oldham and when that didn't happen we moved to do something."
