McAllister has scored 14 goals in 38 appearances for Crawley this season
Crawley Town striker Craig McAllister says he is looking to prove that he deserves a new contract with the Reds.
The 30-year-old's current deal at the Broadfield Stadium expires at the end of the season.
He told BBC Sussex: "I'm playing for my future now in the next 16 games. The ball's in my court.
"As a footballer you're always looking over your shoulder when your contract is up. If I do the business I'm sure I'll get offered a new deal."
McAllister, who joined Crawley from Exeter last summer, added: "Nothing has been said at all. I actually don't think anyone has signed an extension.
"We'll see what's said in the next couple of weeks."
Crawley currently lie second in the Blue Square Bet Premier, four points behind leaders AFC Wimbledon, but with six games in hand.
As well as chasing a first-ever promotion to the Football League, the Reds also reached the fifth round of the FA Cup, where they were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United at Old Trafford.
"It's probably been one of the best seasons of my career," said former Stevenage, Grays and Oxford man McAllister.
