Crawley striker Charles Ademeno focused on game

Crawley Town

Crawley Town striker Charles Ademeno says he is concentrating on playing for the club after his deadline day move to Torquay United fell through.

The 21-year-old, who has scored eight goals this season, saw the deal collapse because the paperwork did not go through in time.

He told BBC Sussex: "As a player you want to play at the highest level.

"It didn't go through, that's done and dusted. I just want to play the next game for Crawley Town to be honest."

Ademeno is hoping another chance to move into the Football League will come.

He said: "If I keep playing the way I've been playing over the last couple of months and if I keep banging goals in, I hope the door will open for me. If it comes and if it's the right move for me, hopefully I'll take it."

The summer signing from Southend United, who scored a hat-trick within six minutes at Grays in December, says he is ignoring the gossip surrounding him.

He said: "I don't really listen to it, I let the club and my agent deal with all of that so I can stay focussed on my football and that's the best way to do it."
