Broadhurst is one of four new faces at the Broadfield Stadium
Crawley boss Steve Evans has signed four players including former Hereford players, defender Karl Broadhurst and attacking midfielder Ben Smith.
MK Dons striker Daniel Powell, 18, joins on loan and goalkeeper Nick Jordan, 19, has also put pen to paper.
Evans said: "I had a very constructive and at times informative meeting with the club owners.
"They understand I am short of players and appreciate we needed to strengthen the squad but it had to be affordable."
Evans added: "They of course have more than the team to think about although they accept that the first team is always the most important thing at any football club."
Broadhurst had been training with his old club Bournemouth following his release by Hereford, but the Cherries have been unable to sign players because of a Football League transfer embargo.
