Evans was punished for sarcastically applauding the referee |
Crawley Town boss Steve Evans has been fined 500 by the Football Association over a charge of improper conduct, reports BBC Southern Counties Radio. Evans had been sent to the stands during the Red Devils' 1-0 defeat by Altrincham on 29 September.
The charge was brought because of Evans' behaviour towards the referee, including sarcastically applauding him.
The former Boston boss was also warned as to his future conduct at an FA disciplinary hearing.
Since that game, Evans and his assistant Paul Raynor were also sent to the stands during the 1-1 draw against Stafford on 20 October - but the FA has already decided not to take any disciplinary action relating to that match.
