Crawley Town's administrators have announced that the Conference club's owners, the SA Group, have failed to fully pay off their creditors. Around 500,000 was due to be paid on Monday, as part of the arrangements to get the club out of administration.
But "only limited funds" have been received by the administrators.
The SA Group has insisted that they "remain committed to supporting the football club" and are "continuiing to raise the balance of funds due".
The administrators, Begbies Traynor, are now taking steps to sell former club chairman Azwar Majeed's flat - while a meeting of remaining creditors has also been called.
The announcement came on the same day that boss John Hollins left the club.
The Majeed family were in charge when the Red Devils were placed in administration in June, which meant that they started the season with minus 10 points.
At the end of August, creditors voted in a favour of a final offer of 50p in the pound from the Majeeds' SA Group - after two previous bids were rejected.
