Crawley Town boss John Hollins tipped Oxford for the Conference title after the leaders sealed a 1-0 win on Monday. He said after his side was denied a point by Matt Day's strike: "Oxford are a top side and if they don't win the league then I don't know who will.
Hollins added: "It is a cruel game sometimes and this is another example of just how cruel it can be.
"We can take a lot from the way we played and I was pleased with the way we weathered their pressure."
Meanwhile, Crawley defender Pat Sappleton has agreed a new deal to stay on at the Broadfield Stadium.
